Multiple Years

MASON has had the privilege of working on this uniquely special site since 2007. The burial site of more than 50 historical individuals, Mauna Ala is sacred ground upon which six historic structures are built.

MASON conducted extensive work on the Chapel (the original mausoleum completed in 1865), the Wyllie and Kamehameha Tombs, the Kalakaua Crypt, and the caretaker's house. We also provided design services for the restoration of the 1865 fence and walls along Nuuanu Avenue.

The gold leafed coat of arms adorns the gate to the chapel as well as the monument at the Kamehameha Tomb
