Visited by thousands of Military Guests annually, the Hale Koa Hotel is the largest MWR facility, located in Honolulu on the US Army’s historic Fort DeRussy.

Hale Koa Hotel renovation was completed in three phases: update all the ‘Ilima Tower guestrooms and lobby areas; the elevator modernization upgraded all 15 elevators throughout the resort; and substantial improvements to the HVAC systems.

PROJECT DETAILS

  • The ‘Ilima Tower is a 14-level building with 421 guestrooms and one suite. The work included refurbishment of the guestrooms, corridors, laundry and vending, and elevator lobby areas including all new finishes.
  • The elevator upgrades included all 10 passenger elevators, two service elevators, and three hydraulic elevators.
  • The HVAC improvements included replacing the two existing chillers plus adding one additional chiller; replacing the existing two cooling towers and providing a third one which requires extending the existing roof screen, structural support framing, and reroofing the impacted areas; repairs and improvements to the existing kitchen exhaust and make up air system; and replacing the existing air handling units and other improvements to the back of house areas.
