“For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.”

Stephanie joined MASON in 2020.
Stephanie attributes her interest in historic architecture and travel to her family, who were fortunate enough to take trips to Europe and Asia. On one such trip in the sleepy town of Irsina, Italy, she discovered the concept of Albergo Diffuso (a hotel scattered across a fading old village) which would become the central topic of her dissertation at UH Manoa. This project aimed to show a path for tourism to contribute positively to community, culture and environment. She believes an architect’s responsibilities are as big as being aware of the power dynamics that shape urban policies and as intimate as creating small moments of comfort and wonder.
Outside of rambling about architectural philosophy, she’s an avid video gamer, casual yogi and proud coparent of two bunnies, BMO and Andromeda.
