We are pleased to announce that Melanie Islam, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD +C, LFA

has been named a Partner at Mason Architects, Inc. (MASON). Ms. Islam first joined the firm in 2012 and has been an Associate since 2018.

Ms. Islam has over a decade of experience in the fields of architectural design, master planning, sustainable design and project management, and she is responsible for all phases of project design and planning, including coordination with design team consultants. Ms. Islam focuses on the firm’s sustainability design efforts and advocates for the reuse of existing buildings as a strategy to save our communities history while adapting to climate change.

Ms. Islam holds a Doctorate of Architecture from the University of Hawai‘i and is on the Board of the Honolulu Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.  She is immediate past president of the Hawai’i Chapter of the US Green Building Council, and is currently the Advocacy Chair of the chapter.
