The project included the renovation and expansion of the Museum (12,100 sq. ft), facilities Support Building (3,125 sq. ft.), Comfort Station (975 sq. ft.) and surrounding outdoor exhibit spaces. The facility improvements were designed by Seattle-based architecture firm MIG Portico to better showcase the USS Bowfin submarine on exhibit and the history of submarines during WWII and the Cold War in the Pacific. The official grand re-opening will take place in early 2021.
