MASON is honored to share that our founder, Glenn E. Mason, FAIA, has been selected to receive the prestigious Medal of Honor, the highest recognition bestowed by AIA Hawaiʻi for a lifetime of exemplary service to the profession and community. This award celebrates Glenn’s decades-long commitment to redefining preservation, championing Hawaiʻi’s storied places, and mentoring generations of architects dedicated to thoughtful, place-based design.

Through his leadership at MASON, Glenn has helped shape many of Hawaiʻi’s most significant historic and cultural projects, demonstrating that preservation can be both visionary and deeply rooted in community values. His Medal of Honor recognition reflects not only an extraordinary body of work, but also the relationships, collaborations, and shared trust built over a lifetime of practice.
