ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER SPECIALZED IN HISTORICAL PRESERVATION

Mason Architects, Inc. is seeking an Architectural Designer Specialized in Historical Preservation meeting the education and experience requirements of the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s (SOI) Professional Qualification Standards for Historical Architect at its offices in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The major job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Cooperate with a small production staff team and coordinate with consultants, clients, construction professionals, and governmental agencies
  • Perform site surveys, prepare analysis of existing conditions, and apply the SOI Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties
  • Prepare construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and regulatory mandates
  • Identify historic building styles, designs, and materials; and demonstrate interest in the technical aspects of historic properties, including conservation of historic materials

At a minimum, the qualified candidate will have: a Bachelor’s degree in architecture AND a Master of Science in Historic Preservation; and must have at least twelve (12) months of relevant experience practicing architecture.  Must also have proficiency in the following computer software programs: Revit and/or AutoCAD; MS Office; Bluebeam and/or Adobe Acrobat; ReCap; and Agisoft.
