Another Designer with a Preservation Background On-Board

Please join me in welcoming MASON’s newest designer with a preservation background, Danele Alampay, who joined the firm in May 2024!

Danele graduated from the University of Washington in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Design, and recently from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science in Historic Preservation. She was born and grew up in the Philippines, then later moved to the South Sound area in Washington State with her family. Danele remembers going on field trips when she was younger to different heritage sites in the Philippines, such as Intramuros in Manila and Vigan. She continues to enjoy seeing places visited and cared for, especially when people see their own stories and communities reflected in the built environment. She thinks that beyond simply protecting physical objects, preservation and adaptive reuse presents a good opportunity to further build meaning into architecture for the present and future of a place.

We are happy to have Danele on our team, and look forward to a long and successful journey together. Welcome aboard!
