ANDREA IS ONE OF THIS YEAR’S YOUNG BUSINESS LEADERS!

Congratulations Andrea Aegerter, one of Pacific Business News’ (PBN) 23rd Annual 40 Under 40 Honoree!

PBN hosted and honored this year’s young business leaders under the age of 40 at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach on Thursday August 25, 2022. The program recognizes young people who are both active leaders in their place of work and volunteers in their community.

Andrea started with the firm in 2017 and was promoted to Associate within three years. She is the Project Architect for several adaptive reuse projects including the Aviation Learning Center on Ford Island; her current work includes a $95 million new Navy Gateway Inns and Suites in Okinawa Japan, plus museum and residential projects across the state.

As the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator for MASON, Andrea develops training programs, onboards new staff, and helps guide staff through software challenges. She helped implement the BIM software at MASON, which allows designers to analyze critical options such as orientation, daylighting, and shade, plus create realistic renderings.

Andrea is actively involved in the local community, serving as a mentor with the ACE Mentor Program of Hawai‘i and engaged in the local chapters of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA), which she currently sits on the board of directors for the AIA Honolulu chapter. She has been involved in dozens of events and various committees including the Housing Committee, a group that looks at legislation related to affordable housing. Over the past year, Andrea has helped lead the development of the Architectural Youth Outreach (AYO) committee. The first AYO event was held on April 28th,2022, when 40 students from Farrington High School toured 16 downtown Honolulu firms in the building industry.

She also joined the group of building professionals who helps the residents of Puuhonua O Waianae, a village of 250 people living unhoused on the leeward coast, design and develop permanent housing in the Waianae Valley. Together with village residents, this development committee has designed the site masterplan, a farming plan, duplex style houses, common amenity buildings, and site infrastructure.
