DESIGNER

"The past remains integral to us all, individually and collectively. We must concede the ancients their place…. But their place is not simply back there, in a separate and foreign country; it is assimilated in ourselves, and resurrected into an ever-changing present."

- David Lowenthal, The Past is a Foreign Country

Experience

Yi-Ju joined MASON in 2023.

Yi-Ju found her interest in historic buildings while engaging in several rehabilitation projects in Taiwan and decided to devote more to this field. She gained her preservation degree from University of Pennsylvania with a focus on both design and material conservation. She was awarded the Charles E. Peterson Award for outstanding students who have distinguished themselves by specialized study of historic building technology. She also spent a summer as a residential intern at Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to learn more about the archive and site management of a modern heritage.

When Yi-Ju is not in the office, she loves to spend her time traveling, cooking, walking, or just grabbing a chair and hanging out at the beach.
